I’m fully aware that today is Friday. Isn’t it?
And we’re up to Block 12 today! Are you managing to stay caught up? The baggies are getting emptier now. We’re on the home stretch.
For Block 12, you’ll need:
- 12 units from your 1 1/2″ Finished baggie that are print with print
- 1 square 3 1/2″ from background fabric
- 2 strips from background fabric, 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″
- 2 strips from background fabric, 2 1/2″ x 10 1/2″
Lay the background square out with the half-square triangle units as shown:
Sew the units on the sides together into pairs, pressing seams to one side.
Now sew them into rows, as shown. Press the seams in the top and bottom rows toward the outside, and the seams in the middle row toward the center.
Sew the rows together to complete the center section of the block.
Now lay this section out with your background strips.
Sew the 6 1/2″ strips to the sides of the block, pressing seams toward the strips. (Ignore that my strip on the left there is a tad short — I was using scraps, so I fudged a tidget!)
Sew the 10 1/2″ strips to the top and bottom, again pressing seams toward the strips.
You’re all done with Block 12! I really like this one. I see lots of possibilities for this block in other projects!
For your second block, as always, you can play around with the arrangement of your units to get a block that is the same, yet different.
Here is how my second one came out:
Here are both of mine together:
Label these Block 12, and I’ll be back next week with the three final blocks. Then it’ll be time to set them all together! Woohoo!
SHELLY–yes, I am screaming at you! I am so far behind. Just when I think I’m getting caught up you pop out 2 more blocks!!! How will I ever catch up?
They are all darling. And I am having fun. I just had to razz you a bit. I swear your blocks are like rabbits….
