We’re tearin’ right through these, huh?
Block 8 today!
The last block had lots of seams to match up. This one has a few, too!
Here we go . . .
For Block 8, you’ll need:
- 9 units from your 3″ Finished baggie that are print with print
- 1 strip from background fabric, 1 1/2″ x 9 1/2″
- 1 strip from background fabric, 1 1/2″ x 10 1/2″
Lay the 9 half-square triangle units out as shown:
Sew them together into rows, pressing the seams in the top and bottom rows to the left, and the seams in the middle row to the right.
Sew the rows together to complete the block section, pressing seams to one side.
Sew the 9 1/2″ background strip to the left side of the block. Press the seam toward the strip.
Sew the 10 1/2″ background strip to the bottom of the block. Press the seam toward the strip. You’re done with Block 8!
As always, for your second block, you can play around with the arrangement as you wish. Here are a few options for that. I’m sure you can come up with some more!
Here’s how I finally decided to do my second block:
Here are both of my blocks together:
Have fun with this one — Block 9 will be posted on Friday!
