Well! If any of you read my other blog, you will have noticed that things have been a bit hectic for me, and that is why I’ve once again fallen behind on this blog.
It boils down to moving to another state, My Cowboy getting really sick, and then us moving back again, all in the space of 2 months.
It’s now 2013, and we’ve been given a fresh new year to start, and even though I’m still living amidst a pile of boxes and have a lot to do, I’m anxious to get going and get on track here again.
So here’s the plan . . .
We’re smack in the middle of the 1953 Quilt-Along, Hazel’s Summer Wildflowers. I was feeling bad about being behind, but those of you whom I’ve heard from are acting as if that’s a good thing so that you have a chance to get caught up or not get behind, what with the holidays and everything. So that makes me feel a little better.
Since I got horrifically behind on the actual diary entries, I’ve decided to begin them starting on January 1, 2013, with the January 1, 1953, diary entry. That way, the dates will be easier for me to keep track of because they end with the same number . . . 1953 . . . 2013. I need any little thing I can get to help make things easier.
So . . . the diary entries are beginning again, and so is the Quilt-Along. We’re ready for the Block 3 Alternate Project, and as soon as I find it amidst the packed boxes of sewing supplies and projects, I’ll post those instructions, and we’ll be back on the right track again. Are you all ready for Block 4?
As for the rest of this year . . .
I’m expecting the 1953 Quilt-Along and its related projects to trickle out over the next few months, probably until at least May, possibly longer, depending on my own ability to get things done and what I hear from all of you about how fast you want to move along.
When it’s finished, I plan to have several other things going on the rest of the year to keep you busy until 1954. Small projects, give-aways, and some other things I’ve yet to dream up, so stay tuned to see what they are.
Then, when 1954 begins, we’ll have another Quilt-Along. I haven’t decided on the exact format for it yet, but it will probably be a combination of how all the others have worked so far. I think you’ll like the quilt. That Quilt-Along will most likely run 9 months, from January through October, for reasons that will become obvious as time goes on. I don’t want to reveal all the secrets too early!
So . . . enjoy the diary entries, get caught up on your embroidery, and I’ll be back soon with the next project, and we’ll continue on. Thanks for sticking with me this far!

I didn’t get any stitching done over break. I’m almost done with Block 2. Sorry! Keep up the good work, Shelly. I am loving it.
I’m excited about the idea of another quilt along! I haven’t actually finished one yet but now we have a bit more funding so I’ll be able to jump into one ON TIME.
Staying caught up is another story…
Thanks Hazel. Love my three completed blocks and I am looking forward to the fourth .Your work is beautiful.
