Went to a Halloween party at Prairie school. I dressed in my blue formal & a big hat & a mask. Me & Minnie went to town at noon and me, her & Annette rode back to school with Chester & Harold E. Minnie got a letter from a P.F.C. Bob Domino stationed with Gene Jones.
More soldier letters . . . she just named off a whole slew of people I don’t know.
Prairie School was a little one-room schoolhouse not far from where the Hydes lived, maybe a mile. I believe it is the school Mildred attended as a girl, but I could be mistaken. It is not the school Mildred taught at when she was a teacher, I do know that. I don’t know if school was actually in session in this school at the time, or if they just used it for special occasions by now, and all the kids went to the public school. The building is long gone now.
Option 1 (large quilt):
I’m giving you the weekend to keep playing with your block arrangement. Now is the time to add in your Setting Blocks and your Setting Triangles, and see if you still like what you’ve come up with, or if you need to do some more rearranging. I’ll show you mine on Monday.
We’ll be setting the blocks together in diagonal rows, so if you’re itching to get started, you can. I’ll elaborate on the details of that more on Monday, however, if you’re not comfortable striking out on your own at this point.
Option 2 (small quilt):
You should be all done! Does it feel good? Have you posted your pictures on the Flickr Group yet?
Stay tuned for additional information as we finish out the year. There will be a binding tutorial, and still an occasional give-away you don’t want to miss out on.
