Stayed home tonite & today. My neck & ears seem real funny. I wrote some letters tonite & got it offhand. I’m really tired. I ironed today. Oh-ho.
Seems she’s a bit loopy after having her brains washed! I have no idea what the phrase “got it offhand” means. Any ideas, anyone?
Today we’re finishing Block 12 — woohoo!
But before we get started, I’m announcing the winner of the Hazel’s Birthday give-away, the Domestic Bliss package. It is:
Congratulations, Balinda!
And now, on to the quilting . . .
Option 1 (large quilt):
Today you’ll need all the units from your “Block 12″ baggie. Lay the long skinny units aside for now, and lay the others out as shown.
Flip the top unit down onto the center, right sides together. Match seams carefully, and pin in place. Stitch, and press the seam to either side, or open, if you prefer.
Add the bottom unit in the same manner, again matching seams carefully and pinning before stitching. Stitch, and press the seam open or to either side.
Next, lay this unit out with the two long skinny units, as shown.
Flip the top unit down onto the center, right sides together. Match seams carefully, and pin in place. Stitch. Press the seam toward the top.
Flip the bottom unit up onto the center, right sides together. Match seams carefully, and pin in place. Stitch. Press the seam toward the bottom.
You are done with Block 12! Go post a photo in the Flickr Group so we can all see what you’ve done. Do you realize how close to done we are?

Uh Oh you are finishing block 12 and I haven’t started on block 10 which means I’m behind again. I think when she wrote “got it offhand” it means once she actually written the thoughts down that she needed to pass on in the letter, much like we would today say get it off you mind ( when you speak up ) or off your chest. It’s lost in translations since we no longer write letters.
