Sunday – Went to Sunday School & Church. Marilyn Leathers was there with boyfriend, J. W. Procter. Ruby, Roy, Barbara stopped by this afternoon. We stayed home tonite. I got my lessons. Party tomorrow nite.
The Spencer family: Ruby, Roy, and Barbara . . .
Ruby is the youngest of the four Rector girls, and only their brother, Vern, is younger than she is. She had been married (before Roy) to a man named Fritz Welz, and then got divorced (oh, the scandal!), and later married Roy Faye Spencer. They had one daughter, Barbara Sue, born in 1945. Ruby did not enjoy being pregnant, and recalls that when her water broke the day Babs was born, it “ruined a perfectly good pair of panty hose!” Furthermore, Barbara was a colicky child, making Ruby swear she’d never have another, and she didn’t! But no one would ever love Barbara more, and she and Ruby are still close to this day. I’ll have more stories about the Spencer family throughout the year, along with some pictures, so more on them later . . .
For now, you need to get to quilting!
Option 1 (large quilt):
Today, you need Fabric #4 again.
From it, cut four squares 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″.
Add these to the “Block 1″ baggie, and store it in your bin. That’s all for today!
Option 2 (small quilt):
There’s no step today for all you Option 2 folks. If you’re behind, this gives you a chance to get caught up.

whew, i’m glad. I’m so far behind…Sunday is catch up day !!
